Yaya Toure's Silly Rant about African Football after Losing the 2015 African Footballer of the Year Award to Aubameyang

It 's usually saith that what's good for the goose is equally good for the gander but that is not the case with Yaya Toure. Yaya knows how to win but is a sore loser. He has won 4 straight African player of the year award so if he doesn't win a fifth one he should take in in good faith in the spirit of sportsmanship rather than moaning & grumbling giving reasons why he should be the one to win like one of the top coaches of the BPL normally does whenever he loses.

As a sportsman you should be ready to win some & lose some & if destiny has already blessed you with 4 straight awards one should not be sad or angry because you didn't win a fifth one. There are so many great players in the history of the game like Austin JayJay Okocha & Joel Telhi who never won the award for once in the cause of their career & they didn't crucify any-one because of that. Whatsoever misgivings he has about the voting patterns should be kept in the cooler or thrown into the dustbin because he is greatest beneficiary of the flawed voting system.

Yaya Toure was voted the African player of the year award between 2011 & 2014 on the back of his outstanding performance for Manchester City & not on his performance for the national team of Cote De Ivoire .

  • In 2011 Yaya was highly instrumental as City emerged victorious in the FA cup & he was voted the player of the year in Africa.
  • In 2012 a Yaya Toure inspired Manchester City won the BPL, while Chelsea spear-headed by Didier Drogba won the champions league & a Christopher Katonga  lead Zambia triumphed over a Drogba & Yaya Toure's lead Cote De Ivoire in the African cup of nations. Now even though Katonga was voted the player of the tournament he was not considered good enough to be among the top 3 nominees for the African player of the year award which Yaya Toure carted away again for the 2nd time. He did not raised any eye brow as to why Katonga  didn't win.
  • In 2013 Mikel Obi won the Europa league with Chelsea & the African cup of nations with Nigeria eliminating Yaya Toure's Cote De Ivoire in the quarter final. Yaya Toure's City could only finish in 2nd place in the BPL but based on better individual star performances at club level Yaya was voted the African player of of the year for the 3rd time running. Yaya didn't complain nor moan about how he wasn't worthy to receive the award. He didn't view this as an injustice or scam on Mikel Obi who won the African Cup of nations with Nigeria.
  • In 2014 Yaya Toure won the award for the 4th time after helping Manchester City to the BPL  title & the carling cup even though a Vincent Enyeama inspired Nigeria team qualified for the 2nd round of the world cup and Yaya's lead Cote De Ivoire crashed out during the first round.
  • In 2015 even though Yaya Toure captained Cote De Ivoire to the African cup of nations title he was not outstanding & if not for thee heroism of the much-maligned Boubacar Barry in the penalty shoot-out it would not have happened.
Yaya's rant was that" Us Africans we don't show that Africa is important in our eyes. If he wants his observation to hold any water let him also come out & say look in 2012 & 2013 when I was voted the African player of the year I did not deserve it because I was wasn't victorious in the African cup of nations.

He should strippecd himself of the 2012 & 2013 award & hand over to Christian Katango of Zambia & Mikel Obi of Nigeria respectively then he can then earn the right to criticized the process that got Aubameyang the award in 2015 or better still let him just concentrate on playing his football. End of discussion.

Zinedine Zidane And The Number Five

It seems there exist a special bond between  Zidane & the number five(5) at Real-Madrid.

The Ex-France international & Real-Madrid Galactico wore the number 5 jersey with poise during his stint with Real-Madrid as a player.

He spent a total of 5 seasons at Real-Madrid during his playing days.

Zidane had his debut as the manager of Real-Madrid on the 9th of January 2015 & won by 5-0.

Gareth Bale scored his 50th goal for Real-Madrid during Zidane's debut match as the Manager of Real-Madrid. Now you may be wondering what's the connection between 5 & 50. From Mathematics 5x10=50 .

Sticking to your New Year Resolutions

Making new year resolutions is as easy as taking food to your mouth but the major problem is actually sticking to those resolutions & carrying them out. Why wait for the beginning of a new year before making resolutions if they are actually meant to improve & make your lives better? The answer is that new year resolutions are made by a lot of individuals based on the fact that the tradition & culture around the world demands they make them rather than on the basics that these resolutions will actually transform their lives for the better.

Resolutions are supposed to be made any-time within the year when you discover short-comings in your character, lifestyle, behavior, attitude or when you observe any-thing that is going to make your life better at that period in your life. Delaying action to address an outstanding issue in your life till the new year can lead to disastrous consequences. Making new year resolutions isn't the best way to alter, change or correct bad behavior, habit or attitude etc.

So before you make resolutions you need to:
  •  think it over, taking time to analyze it thoroughly.
  • ask  yourself whether it makes sense to save more money for retirement, quit smoking & drinking to prolong your life & improve your health, visit the gym to stay fit & lose weight etc.
Now do you have to wait till the !st of  January to do all this. The answer is no.

How Do you Stick to your Resolutions

You need to:
  • Make resolutions that are realistic & achievable.
  • Count the cost of implementing such resolutions before making them.
  • Strike out any resolution that you might have made on impulse without thinking it over.
  • Draw up a road map or action plan to achieve your resolutions/goals.
  • Divide your ultimate goal into tiny achievable bits.
  • Set few goals at a time.
  • Apply the Dee(s) of Desire, Doggedness, Diligence, Dedication to your resolutions.
  • Review your progress periodically e.g bi-weekly, monthly & quarterly.

The Essence of Christmas

Is Christmas Really Being Celebrated the Way It Should be Done?

Christmas day is a day fixed & set aside to commemorate the birth of Christ 2000 years ago by people all over the world but today it's being practice wrongly.

Why did Christ Come into the World in the First Place?

Christ came into the world to redeem Mankind out of the shackles of sin, satan & evil. Adam & Evil had embraced sin in the garden of Eden & as a result mankind being their offspring's was doomed for destruction according to the law made by God. Even though man was God's friend,God is an impartial judge that does not respect any-one but due to the love which he had for man he decided to make a way of escape..

The only way man could escape was for a sinless substitute to take man's punishment upon himself. The only qualified substitute who was willing to take man's place was Jesus & as a result Christ was born 2000 years ago for the redemption of man from sin, satan & evil.

What Should be our Attitude During the Christmas Period?

The Christmas period should be a period whereby Christians indulged in sober reflection appreciating the sacrifice of Jesus the more, worshiping, praising , honoring him rather than engaging in frivolities & vices such as:

  • eating & drinking.
  • getting drunk.
  • going high on drugs.
  • illegal sex
  • beach parties
  • clubbing
  • smoking
  • gluttony
  • buying clothes & shoes
  • attending shows
  • unnecessary expenses

So this Christmas period spend more time in God's presence. If you have not yet receive Christ into your life, Celebrate this Christmas by receiving him into your life so that the essence of Christmas will actually be fulfilled in your life.

The Very Thing Which Jose Mourinho Feared Greatly Has Befallen Him

By Samuel Aniekan Udoh a.k.a De-Prof

Jose Mourinho was a name that was equivalent to trophies, titles & success. In other words hired Jose & you are guaranteed trophies, titles & success. Mourinho is a serial winner. He had a Midas touch as any-thing he touched turned into gold. By the age of 50 he had became the first coach to have won a Grand-Slam of league titles in England, Italy & Spain. He has won a total of 8 league titles in 4 countries, 2 UEFA champions league league with FC Porto & Inter-Milan, 4 FA cups in Portugal, England, Italy & Spain.

He's won a total of 6 trophies in Portugal, 8 trophies at Chelsea, 5 trophies at Inter-Milan & 3 at Real-Madrid for a combined total of 22 trophies. Some of this trophies were won in style. For instance;

  •  He ended a 50 year wait for a top-flight domestic title by winning the premier league for Chelsea in 2015.
  • He won the UEFA champions league for Inter-Milan in 2010 after more than 40 years of waiting.
  • He ended Barcelona's stranglehold on La-Liga by winning the title in 2012 for Real-Madrid.
  • He's won 10 finals out of 12 his teams played in.
He once declared that he could die of starvation due to a lack of titles because he needed to feed himself with titles. He did not lose a single home league game between the time he coached Porto, Chelsea in his first spell & Inter-Milan. He won his first 77 home league games at Chelsea .He has won a host of individual award & the best was when he was named the FIFA Coach of the Year in 2010.

He had a really big appetite for winning matches & he had a weakness which was dealing with defeat or failure. He could not cope with nor tolerate failure & as a result he could not stand those who were not as successful as himself. just like Okonkwo the major character in "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe. He regularly took swipes at Arsene Wenger, Claudio Raneri, Rafael Benitez & Mancini who were not as successful as himself, It even got to a point where he labelled Wenger a Specialist in Failure.

Even though he predicted that a day will come when the bad results will roll in but I believe he dreaded such a day & never envisaged that such a day will ever become reality neither did he believe that it will get to a point where just a season after lifting the the BPL title he would be sitting just one point above the relegation zone after his team's ninth defeat in the opening 16 games of their premier league defense which culminated in his sack.

All his strong points & strengths deserted him. According to Oliver Hart of the Daily Mail " Mourinho was the ultimate motivator". He was a man who could win the loyalty of a squad of millionaires & get them to lay down their lives for him.

  • He could make his enemies to play for him & love him.
  • He could persuade the lazy to work.
  • He could persuade the lame to run.
  • He could persuade the meek to fight.
  • He could make the hen to fly like a eagle & the elephant to run like a cheetah.
  • He was football's Pied Piper & was feted for it wherever he went as he won hon-ours wherever he went.
But this season, the motivational charm deserted him  & as a result his players stopped responding & Mourinho became powerless. He became bad at his job overnight at his job overnight & paid the ultimate price

Mourinho's loss of his job may not affect him in any way aside from the fact that he wanted to build a dynasty at Chelsea because a Managers of Mourinho's reputation will always be in high demand. but what will torment him is the manner in it happened & this may actually demoralized him & erode his confidence & self-belief for the future.

Assumption a Leading Cause of Failure in Examination Amongst Students

By Samuel Aniekan For EDDYSAM Educators

Assumption has been identified as one of the leading cause of failure in examination & in life as a whole. Failure of students in some instances can be trace back to assumption.

What is Assumption?

Assumption can been defined as the act of taking things for granted or supposing something to be the case without evidence or proof.

Assumption plays a major role when preparing for test or examination. In most cases, it is discovered that the questions that are answered wrongly or can't be answered by students are usually from areas where they believed that they are already grounded in as well as areas that are imagined to be very simple & as such they have no reason to revise such aspects of their curriculum.

A lots of students usually wrongly assumed that they understand a particular lesson the first time it is taught by the teacher. We all know that a lot of students find mathematics very difficult. An excellent teacher who can simplify complex stuffs comes into a mathematics class & demystifies a very difficult topic piece by piece.

Now the students actually understands the topic while the teacher is explaining & then feel that topic is as easy as it sounds. They fail to realize that they are not at the teacher's level & that the teacher must have gone over the material several times & digested it before delivering it to them at that level where they actually understand & feel that the lesson is easy. But there is a catch here. Assumptions can actually set in at this point because a complex, difficult lesson has been demystified & made simple & ordinary.

Assumptions usually comes into academics when a lesson/topic appears too easy. When a scholar assumes & believes that the lesson was easily understood & fails or refuses to go back after the class to do personal study to try & digest & absolved the material that was taught. He will definitely be found wanting when he is examined on this lesson.

For a student who will go back to engage in personal study he's going to find out that the lesson was not actually as easy as it appeared in the class room while the teacher was delivering it & he may need to consult the teacher once again for more explanation & clarification. But the joy of such students is that they won't be caught napping when they are examined on this topic because they have tied all loosed ends & did not leave any-thing to assumption.

How To Deal With the Negative Impart of Assumption

  1. Always engage in personal study immediately after a class.
  2. Study things that are look easy, are actually easy, as well as complex & difficult.
  3. Never take any lesson for granted no matter how easy it may appear to be.
  4. Never assume that you are grounded in a topic when you have not done your personal detailed study of that topic.
  5. Don't leave things to chance.
  6. When preparing for an examination never assume that you won't be tested in all areas. In other words study every-thing.

Does Chelsea Stand any Chance Against PSG in their Champions League Last 16 Fixture come Febraury 2016

By Samuel Aniekan For EddySam Educators

The draws for the 2015/2016 Champions League round of 16 fixtures has been made & for the 3rd straight season running Chelsea FC has been paired against PSG. On paper and based on current form, & the caliber of players possess by both sides, this looks like mission impossible for Chelsea. It looks as if PSG are already through to the quarter -finals of the competition. As we speak fans of PSG may actually be celebrating because they have actually be drawn with one of the teams which every other team would have loved to be paired with according to Mourinho. So this is like a dream drawn to the average PSG fan.

Both teams are actually champions of their respective leagues with contrasting fortunes in the current campaign while PSG the French champions sit on top of the French league & are unbeaten in 18 league matches and won 15 of those 18 matches scoring 45 goals in the process & conceding just 9. They also only conceded one goal in the group stages of this years champions league competition as they finished runners-up to Real-Madrid. Jose Mourinho's Chelsea sit one point above the relegation zone in the 16th position after 16 matches having amassed just 15 points scoring 17 goals & conceding 24 goals.

It's not looking good at all for Chelsea FC at the moment but if PSG become complacent & over-confident & feel that they have already won the tie without kicking a ball then they may end up having themselves to blame come February 2016 because fortunes reversal can occur within a moment's notice & according to Tyson Fury " you don't have to be the best at an event for you to win. February may just be the period when Chelsea gets into their stride while PSG may suffer a blip in form.

Over the two legs a combination of tactics, belief, form, luck & destiny are going to play a key role in deciding the outcome. We know the champions league can be full of surprises. The Chelsea team that won the UCL a few years ago was actually one of the weakest Chelsea team who were never given any chance but luck was really on their side & it was their destiny to win the trophy that year. So if it is actually Chelsea's destiny to defeat PSG come February 2016 it is going to happen.

So PSG current good form may actually mean nothing come February 2016 if they are not in shape,  when the Champions League match is played against Chelsea.
