The Health and Nutritional Benefits of Avocado Pear


Avocado Pear

Avocado, also known as alligator pear, is a large pear-shaped fruit having a single large seed, and soft, light green pulp, often eaten raw, especially in salads. The skin is originally green but it changes to black or deep wine when the fruit is fully ripe. Avocado fruit is creamy & smooth in texture.



Composition of Avocado

Avocado fruit contains 73% water, 15% fat, 8.5% carbohydrates which are mostly fibers, and 2% protein.It is very rich in monosaturated fats.  Avocado is very rich in oleic acid, fiber, D-Mannoheptulose, vitamins & minerals such as vitamin K, E, C & B-vitamins, potassium, folate & copper. Avocado also contains trace amounts of magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, zinc, and phosphorus. It is loaded with carotenoids like zeaxanthin and lutein. 

The Health Benefits of Avocado Pear

Avocado pear is one fruit that helps your body to absorb nutrient from other plants, & aids digestion. Avocado is often referred to as a "super food" because it does not contain any cholesterol or sodium & is very low in saturated fat. It has wound healing effect, provides dental care & protects you from liver diseases. It enhances your mood & reduces the risk of depression. Avocado oil is also very useful in easing symptoms of arthritis mostly in the knee & hip. Consumption of avocado speeds up weight loss because it has ample amount of calories.

Carotetenoids like zeaxanthin & lutein are beneficial for eye health & reduce the the risk of age-related eye diseases.

It has a high amount of calories. One avocado of about 136 grams contains about 218 calories.

D-Mannoheptulose is a type of sugar that helps in sugar control.

Oleic Acid with persenones A and B are unique antioxidants that protect the body against inflamation, cancer, diabetes & minimizes the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Vitamins K1 is important for blood clotting & healthy bone. Vitamins E & C are powerful antioxidants that helps the immune function and ensure healthy skin. Folate B9 helps in normal cell function & tissue growth, and it is very essential for pregnant women. Vitamin B6 converts food into energy.

Only one avocado should be eaten in a day
