Real-Madrid Ends Barcelona 39-Game Unbeaten Run as the BBC Trinity Out-Shines the MSN Trio in Zidane’s First El-Classico

By Sammy Aniekan for Eddysam Educators Sports

Real Madrid defeated Barcelona by a 2-1 score-line in Zinedine Zidane’s first El-Classico as the manager of Real-Madrid at the Nou-Camp. The result has actually thrown the title race open again. It was sweet revenge for the 4-0 battering which Real-Madrid got at the hands of Barcelona earlier in the season in the first leg of the encounter at the Santiago-Bernabeu.

Much was said about the destructive form of the MSN(Messi, Suarez, & Neymar) attacking trident of Barcelona prior to the match but it was as if they were not on the pitch for the entire duration of the match as the Real’s inspired trinity of BBC(Bale, Benzema & Cristiano Ronaldo) stole the show. The BBC all had their hands in the goals.

Pique headed Barcelona into the lead in the 56th minute from a corner-kick. Benzema equalized in the 62nd minute from an acrobatic volley. Bale had a goal incorrectly disallowed in the 80th minute. Sergio Ramos was given the matching orders in the 83rd minute. Ronaldo scored the winning goal in the 85th minute assisted by Bale.

Messi was unable to score his 500th senior career goal as he was not at the party while Zidane broke recent history to win his first El-Classico as a Real-Madrid manager. Ronaldo show that he still has the drive in him & the ability to perform at the highest level as it had been said prior to the match that he can’t produce the goods in the big matches any-more.
