England's Opening Game Hoodoo Lingers on in France Euros 2016

By Sammy Aniekan for EddySam Sports

The Three Lions of England were unable to win a tournament's opening game at the nine time of asking at the Euros in France.  Even though England dominated the game from start to finish they were frustrated for large spells of the game by the Russians who were highly defensively organized and whose game plan was to play deep.

The opening goal came quite late in the 73rd minute of the 2nd half for England through a Eric Dier's free-kick, but their joy was short -live as their defensive short comings allowed Berezutski to grab the equalizer for Russia in the 92nd minute of injury time. The match was marred by violence before & after the game.
